A pair of Anchorage baseball players helped the College of the Desert stay hot.

Corey Clevenger [Dimond] and Dylan Lauwers [Dimond] each delivered RBIs as part of a 4-run eighth inning in a 7-6 victory over Antelope Valley.

The Desert has now won six straight.

Clevenger’s sacrifice fly proved to be the game-winning run. Lauwers, who went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs, also drove in a run in the eighth with a base hit.

Clevenger, who bats third in the order, leads the team in walks [12] and ranks fourth in RBIs [13] in 28 games.

At Canada College, Dylan Wisthoff [West] singled, walked and used a sacrifice bunt to set up the game’s first run in a 3-1 win over Monteray.

Wisthoff is hitting .231 in 29 games, the second best average among freshman.

At the University of Dallas, Trevor Allred [South] leads the team in HRs [3] and RBIs [23]. He is hitting .256 in 27 games.

The team also features Anchorage teammates Verea Castello [South] and Chris Schierhorn [South].

Castello is batting .271 in 24 games. He’s also been hit 10 times.

Schierhorn, a pitcher, has a 1-1 record and 2.43 ERA in 11 appearances. He has issued just 8 walks in 37 innings.

At Truman State University, Adam Manzer [West] is hitting .250 with 3 RBIs in 11 games.
