Juneau’s Dylan Baker lost his no-no in the eighth inning and nearly lost the game in the ninth.

Fortunately Western Nevada College won the game in the 10th.

As a result the Wildcats are going back to the championship game of the NJCAA Region 18 tournament in West Jordan, Utah.

Baker, a hard-throwing sophomore right-hander, held the College of Southern Nevada hitless until the eighth and struck out 14 batters.

In the ninth, however, he gave up a two-run home run to Quinton Mack that tied the game.

Western Nevada won it with a two-run, walk-off bomb in the 10th.

Baker, a projected first-round pick in next month’s Major League Baseball Draft, lowered his season ERA to 1.62 in 15 starts.

His record is 11-0 with 114 strikeouts in 72 innings.
