Brown picks up saves in back-to-back appearances for PLU

Senior pitcher Garrett Brown of Anchorage picked up his second save of the season for Pacific Lutheran after closing out a 5-4 win over the University of Redlands in Washington.

Brown threw 2.1 perfect innings to lower his ERA to 3.18 over five appearances.

The former Service star picked off a runner at first base with two outs in the seventh and the tying run on third base.

He then threw consecutive 1-2-3 innings in the eighth and ninth.

It was the second save in as many appearances for Brown, who last season moved into the bullpen after two years at catcher.

Closing out games seems to be the right fit for the crafty right-hander.
