Clevenger ends solid season at College of the Desert

Anchorage’s Corey Clevenger helped College of the Desert finish strong in the California Community College Baseball League.

The team won its final three games as the freshman third baseman went 4 for 10 at the plate with a pair of doubles and 2 RBIs.

Clevenger, of Dimond High fame, reached base 7 times [3 walks] in 13 at-bats and scored 4 runs.

The late run helped College of the Desert finish 18-16 overall and 15-9 in the Foothill Division. The team was third in the division, just missing out on a playoff berth.

Clevenger hit .236 in 34 games. He led the team in walks [17] and was fourth in RBIs [16].
