Curfman strikes out 6 in tough-luck loss for D2 NSU

Chugiak's Cody Curfman struck out a season-high six batters and allowed only one earned over five innings of work for Northern State University.

Unfortunately, two errors in the fifth inning cost him a chance at a winning decision as Cedarville won the NCAA D2 game 12-9 in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

The former Chugiak Legion Post 33 pitcher threw a season-high five innings and allowed six hits, four runs and two walks.

Curfman carried a shutout into the fourth inning when it was broken up in part because of a passed ball.

This was his second start and a much better effort compared to his first when he allowed five earned in two innings during an 11-1 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan.
