There’s another Alaska pitcher turning heads at Western Nevada College.

Freshman Max Karnos of Anchorage continues to shine for the perennial powerhouse, carving out his own reputation at the school that produced All-American Dylan Baker of Juneau.

Karnos combined on a three-hitter in a 5-0 win over Pima.

The right-hander threw six innings, giving up three hits and striking out a pair.

“Max Karnos was the best freshman in the fall and has the secret weapon working in his favor – command,” WNC coach D.J. Whittemore told the Carson Valley Times.

Karnos, of South High fame, was the 2013 Cook Inlet Conference Most Valuable Player.
