Legion AA postseason starts Tuesday w/ State, Matson

The road to the Northwest Regional begins Tuesday when the Alaska Legion Baseball State Tournament gets started at Mulcahy Stadium.

Day 1 State Tournament schedule:

The double-elimination tournament runs through Saturday’s championship game at 3 p.m., with an if-necessary game at 6:30.

The ALB state champion will represent Alaska at the Northwest Regional, Aug. 5-9 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The second-place finisher at the ALB state tournament will also travel Outside, qualifying for the NWCART regional event, Aug. 7-11 in Logan, Utah.

The second annual Matson Invitational begins Tuesday afternoon at Bartlett High School.

 The Matson Invitational winner will play the third-place finisher from the state tournament on Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. for Alaska’s third regional berth. The winner of that game will also qualify for the NWCART.

Anchorage hosted the NWCART last season at Mulcahy Stadium.
