Corey Madden of Anchorage today got his first taste of the big leagues during a spring training game with the Miami Marlins.

Madden, of East High fame, pitched 2/3 innings in the seventh inning of a 7-0 loss to the New York Mets in Jupiter, Fla.

He faced six batters, allowing three hits, a walk and a run.

He also had a strikeout.

The 27-year-old right-hander is a non-roster invitee to spring training trying to make the club.

Madden has 188 career minor league appearances over six years. He finished last season with Triple-A New Orleans, an affiliate of the Marlins.
