Minimal run support continues to cost Karnos at WNC

Western Nevada College sophomore Max Karnos of Anchorage is pitching well enough to win.

But he’s getting no love from his offense.

Karnos suffered his second straight hard-luck loss in a 3-2 defeat to Salt Lake Community and it was the third consecutive one-run loss for the Wildcats when he starts.

The 6-foot-4 right-hander allowed just 3 hits and struck out 5 over 6 innings of work, an effort good enough to win on most days.

WNC lost 2-1 in his previous two starts, a cruel fate for a guy with a 2.19 ERA in 11 starts this year.

Karnos, of South High fame, has a 3-4 record and a 3-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio. He has given up 50 hits in 65.2 innings.
