Despite being ranked third among Northern California community colleges and having a red-hot hitter in Adam Manzer of Anchorage, Marin College was upset by Solano the playoff regionals.

Fourteenth-seeded Solano rallied to win the final two games and claim the best-of-3 series to advance to the next round.

Manzer, of West Post 1 fame, finished 3 for 14 in the series with an RBI.

The catcher/outfielder hit a career-high .279 in 32 games this season, highlighted by a late-season streak that saw him collect two hits in nine of his final 12 games.

During that stretch Manzer hit a scorching .373.

Marin College – which also features Palmer pitcher Kyle Bovy – finished 29-10 overall this season.
