Sonderlund dominating relief role for Gateway CC in Arizona

After missing each of the last two seasons, Torgen Soderlund of Fairbanks appears to be making up for lost time at Gateway Community College in Arizona.
The right-handed relief pitcher has a 0.79 ERA in nine appearances for one of the best teams in the conference.
Gateway is tied for third in the ACCAC with a 27-13 record, 16-8 in league.
Soderlund, of Lathrop High fame, has a 1-1 record with one save and 10 strikeouts in 11.1 innings.
The 6-foot-3 freshman originally signed with Western Nevada College out of high school and redshirted. Then he sat out last year to recover from an injury.
“Now he’s back on the mound like he never left,” his high school Tyler Hollister said.
