Steffenson starts college career w/ 9-game hit streak

Nine games into his freshman season at Mesa Community College and Kenai's Paul Steffenson is playing like a MVP.


The speedy outfielder leads the Arizona team in hits, total bases, stolen bases and on-base percentage.


He is hitting .517 and owns a nine-game hitting streak.


Steffenson, of Kenai Post 20 fame, has swiped seven bags and ranks second with nine RBIs.


He has struck out only once in 32 plate appearances.


Mesa is 8-1 in his nine appearances.
