Thompson goes big fly for first time this year, No. 9 for career

Anchorage's Tyler Thompson of Pacific Lutheran University launched his first home run of the college season.

The senior third baseman went yard in a 7-2 loss to Linfield.

He has three extra-base hits and 10 runs in 11 games. He just had his 5-game hitting streak snapped.

Thompson has 9 home runs and 60 RBIs in 92 career games. 

Last year he jacked a career-best five homers.
