The University of Northwestern-St. Paul turned to Juneau’s Philip Wall as its opening day starter and he didn’t disappoint.

The sophomore allowed zero earned runs in six innings and got some late offense from his teammates as the NCAA D3 Eagles rallied for a 4-3 win over Wilkes University in Florida.

The former Juneau Legion Post 25 pitcher scattered seven hits and struck out three batters.

Wall improved his career record to 6-2 and lowered his career ERA to 2.98 in 72.2 innings.
