Wall comes up big when it matters most, stays unbeaten

Juneau’s Philip Wall of the University of Northwestern-St. Paul scattered 13 hits over a career-high 8.1 innings in a 5-2 win over Northland College in Minnesota.

The freshman right-hander improved his record to 4-0 on the NCAA D3 season.

Wall pitched a 1-2-3 inning only once and threw from the stretch basically the entire time because there were so many base runners.

However, he did a marvelous job of keeping them from scoring as he held Northland batters to 3-for-22 hitting with runners on base.

Wall lowered his season ERA to 1.75 in 36 innings over six appearances.
